Guess what day it is! WEDNESDAY! That means I get to grace your pretty little minds with whatever pops into my head. 🙂
I’m cast in an upcoming musical with my community theater, and can I just say, it is one of the most worthwhile engagements of my life! Ba da ba ba ba…I’m lovin’ it.
At the end of every rehearsal, we all circle up and say a prayer. Last night, I requested that everyone say a prayer for my mom, who lost her job this week. Everyone let out a sympathetic “ooh..” in unison. That really caught me for a second. Wait, they actually care? I was expecting maybe a few head nods or a half-frown, but instead–for just a moment–I had their care and compassion. That’s rare these days.
After everyone’s melancholy response, I proudly proclaimed “God provides, God provides.”
“Yes He does,” replied awesome guy in circle.
And I really do believe that prayer was heard and the answer is on the way.
So I just wanted to share this you guys. I felt really good for the rest of the night after that. Like my life matters. Like God is watching out for me. Like I was in the right place at the right time, with the right people. Like there really is good in the world.
And there is. It took a long time for me to see it, but the people right here in this small town are just as significant as anyone else. There is a lot of love here, and I am proud to be a part of it.
I don’t know what my point is, but I just felt really warm and special after that. Even in church settings, I’ve often felt like just another face in the crowd. But right there, I felt like part of a family. I thank God for leading me to Higher Ground community theater.
Open your heart to the love around you. It’s closer than you think. ❤
Also, I think everyone should be in a musical at least once in their life. There would be no more wars.
